Carolyn Lino Stewart

Carolyn founded Concept to Design Inc. in 2007 after building a strong foundation in architectural and interior design firms and gaining experience with one of BC's largest home builders. She is a graduate of BCIT's Building Technology - Architectural program, a Certified Residential Designer through BDIBC, and registered with ASTTBC.

With over 25 years in the industry, Carolyn has worked closely with builders, developers, city representatives, consultants, trades, and suppliers. She thrives on collaboration and problem-solving, approaching each project from multiple perspectives to bring her clients' visions to life. Her passion for design, dedication to building strong relationships, and commitment to fostering a collaborative environment are at the heart of her company.

Carolyn's strong work ethic is deeply rooted in her upbringing, inspired by her parents' sacrifices in immigrating to Canada to create new opportunities for their family. She values hard work, perseverance, and the importance of creating spaces that enhance daily life.

Believing that home is a place for connection, she strives to design spaces that blend beauty with functionality, creating environments where people can gather, laugh, and make lasting memories. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two adult daughters, and their dog & two cats, appreciating the joy and warmth they bring to everyday life.

Julia Jacob

Julia joined the team in 2014 as a graduate of Vancouver Island University, holding a Bachelor of Interior Design. She is a quick thinker and provides solutions to the new challenges that arise every day. She takes clients' preferences and transforms them into professionally finished projects, striking the perfect balance between detailed features and simplicity.

Her design and technical skills make her a key person in the company. Julia offers creative design perspectives with practical problem-solving. Among her many skills, she is passionate about space planning and never tires of striving for the best layout for each client. Her vision extends beyond interior design, enabling her to contribute to the overall design and planning of the home itself.

As Lead Designer, she oversees all aspects of project development from concept and design to budgeting and scheduling, ensuring every space reflects both creativity and function. A natural problem-solver, Julia guides the design team with a focus on precision, innovation, and collaboration. Her expertise in space planning and technical detailing brings clarity and cohesion to every project. Working closely with Carolyn, she also leads initiatives to refine company processes and enhance the client experience, while making new connections, managing project leads, and preparing proposals and quotes.

Outside of her design pursuits, Julia revels in the outdoors and the companionship of animals. You'll often find her riding horses at the barn or enjoying the company of her dog Molly. Julia also finds solace in spending quality time at home unwinding with a good book.

Katelyn Woods

Katelyn graduated from The Art Institute of Vancouver in 2014 with a Diploma in Interior Design.

She brings over ten years of experience in interior design, combining a sharp eye for detail with a deep passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces. With a strong sense of aesthetics and a commitment to understanding each client's unique vision, Katelyn excels at transforming ideas into practical yet visually appealing design concepts.

Throughout her career, Katelyn has honed a versatile skill set, focusing on listening to clients' needs and translating them into tailored designs. They have a proven ability to craft detailed floor plans, select cohesive color schemes, and source materials and furnishings that not only meet the client's design goals but also stay within budget. Their dedication to both creative and technical aspects of interior design ensures that every project is executed with precision and care.

When she's not working, Katelyn loves to spend quality time outdoors with her husband, son, and their golden retriever, Sage.

Angela Spence, BID

Angela earned her Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Vancouver in 2015 and brings over a decade of hands-on experience in interior design and project management to the Concept to Design team. Throughout her career, she has been involved in all phases of the design process, from initial concept development and space planning through to construction documentation and project completion. Angela has worked across a diverse range of sectors, including private residential, commercial, mixed-use, and social housing projects, giving her a well-rounded and adaptable design perspective.

Angela excels at creating thoughtful design concepts and refined material palettes that balance aesthetics, functionality, and durability. She takes pride in her ability to listen closely to her clients and translate their goals, vision, and project requirements into cohesive, practical, and elegant design solutions. Her clear communication style, collaborative mindset, and proactive, solutions-oriented approach allow her to navigate complex projects while building strong relationships with clients and project teams alike. Angela earned her NCIDQ certification in 2023 and is a registered member of the Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia (IDIBC).

Outside of the studio, Angela enjoys spending time outdoors skiing or hiking with her family. When she's not on the trails or slopes, you'll likely find her doing yoga or curled up with a good book at home, accompanied by her cats.

Charlie

Charlie, the four-legged heart of Concept to Design, is more than just an office dog. He's an integral part of the creative process. With his wagging tail and warm presence, Charlie has a way of making clients feel instantly at home as they step into our design studio. Whether he's lounging on a carefully curated rug or supervising fabric selections from his favorite sunlit corner, Charlie brings a sense of comfort and charm to the space.

As a trusted design assistant, Charlie has an eye for cozy textures-especially those perfect for napping. He's been known to test out furniture for comfort, ensuring every piece we recommend is as inviting as it looks. His daily routine includes greeting visitors, inspecting mood boards, and reminding our team to take much-needed creative breaks.
